Mahdia

Mahdia is a lovely little fishing port that tries, somehow, to preserve its traditions despite new tourist activities.
Mahdia consists of a fortress, a sailor from another era and the famous square in Cairo, the heart of the local community cemetery. This place is certainly the most picturesque part of town. The beautiful mosque Hajj Mustapha Hamza was also built in 1722 and its surroundings.
